Algy leaned back against the wee sand-cliff, and watched the light playing across the water. He soon drifted off into a comfortable doze, and started to dream about all the kind friends he had met on Tumblr. Half awake and half asleep, Algy thought how truly remarkable it was that people all around the world were following the adventures of a fluffy bird on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands!

So Algy would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your wonderful kindness, your amazing comments, your “flying hearts”, your reblogs, your messages… and just for continuing to follow Algy’s funny little adventures :)))

Extra special fluffy thanks go to those lovely people who sent Algy a “Beautiful Person Award” last week, and to all those who send him kind messages. If he has not yet written back to you, he is very, very sorry! Sometimes it’s hard to keep up with answering your correspondence when you only have fluffy feathers to type with – but he will write to you soon!

Algy is also extremely grateful to everyone who reblogs his adventures and helps them reach a wider audience, with very fluffy “reblogging thanks” to the hard-working telescopical, and a special “Thank you” to the mighty Lensblr who reblogged one of Algy’s adventures over the weekend.

Algy loves you all, and hopes that you will all have a happy week xoxoxo

When Algy got home, he was very excited to find a beautiful card waiting for him. It was addressed “To Algy”, and brought him a lovely squirrel who had been sent by his friend Karen to travel all the way to the Scottish Highlands from Ohio in the USA. Algy had heard of flying squirrels, but he had never before met one that had flown across a mighty ocean… However, here it was, without a doubt, and Algy guessed that it would now need a tree to live in. The weather was unpleasantly damp and windy, but the squirrel had lovely thick fur and didn’t seem to mind, so Algy gave it a wee tour of the local trees, so that it could choose one for itself. The squirrel brought him greetings from the United States, and a strange message: “You’re One Cool Dude”. Algy was puzzled. He was undoubtedly cool – in fact the wind felt bitterly cold today – but he wasn’t quite sure whether that was what Karen had meant 🙂

Thank you, Karen – Algy sends you a special furry squirrel hug which he has just learned from his new friend 🙂

One of Algy’s Tumblr friends, Thierry, lives in an exotic location on the other side of the world – a place very different from Algy’s northern home. Recently, Thierry has been reporting a sequence of strange events in his tropical garden. Unlike the gentle mosses and ferns in Algy’s mild environment, Thierry’s plants have grown alarming and dangerous, and now seem to have minds of their own.

Algy was keen to help his friend regain control over the evil plants, so he flew over to the old oak woods, to ponder the matter by an ancient woodland waterfall. The constant flow of the tumbling water in such a peaceful setting can be a great aid to clear thinking and inspiration, and there is much wisdom there …
