One or two people have contacted Algy because they have had difficulty downloading the complete Kindle edition of Algy’s new book for free.

To download the entire book for FREE this weekend, you must click the Buy button at Amazon and NOT the Download Free Sample or Try A Sample links.

You will see that, during the promotion period, the Kindle book is for sale at a price of 0.00 in your own currency, and to get the whole book you need to “buy” it for 0.00. It seems silly, but that’s the way Amazon works.

“It was a dismally dark, gloomy kind of day, smothered in Scotch mist, and it was almost impossible to feel enthusiastic about doing anything at all…”

So it says at the start of the second chapter of Algy’s new book, The Magical Midwinter Star, and it was indeed exactly such a day in the West Highlands of Scotland, with very little light to be seen anywhere in the world, and certainly no sign of colour.

Fortunately, however, Algy had just published the Kindle version of his book, so he persuaded his assistant to download it to her iPad, and tucked himself up enthusiastically on an old armchair with some of his friends, to read it to them from the very beginning to the magically happy ending 🙂

Algy is delighted to announce that the Kindle ebook version of his new book, The Magical Midwinter Star, has just been published and will be FREE to download all day tomorrow, Sunday 18th December – just in time for you to check it out to see whether you want to include a printed copy of the book in someone’s Christmas stocking 🙂 The offer applies to all Amazon sites around the world.

Full details about buying the paperback and hardback editions are available in Algy’s previous post, and friends in the UK are reminded that if they buy from Algy’s own web shop they will get FREE DELIVERY by 1st class post to UK addresses. This applies to ALL Algy’s books purchased before Christmas, not just the new one.

Because the Kindle book is brand new, Amazon have not yet linked it to the print versions, so please go to your local Amazon site on Sunday and search for The Magical Midwinter Star. Algy will post some direct links tomorrow.

As this story is about a midwinter celebration and is suitable for all winter holidays, Algy wants to share it with you over the holiday season. If you are lucky enough to live in Cornwall or be visiting that area, Gallery Anthony in Mullion will be the first retailer to hold stock of the book. They should have it for sale from this weekend.

This book is especially suitable for Christmas and other midwinter holidays, and Algy will be posting details of how to order signed copies of the book in the next couple of days, as well as a preview of the book on his web site. Watch this space for further information 🙂

Readers of Algy’s previous books may be interested to know that this new book is similar to his first book “A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird” in length, style and reading age, but with a quite different story, of course, and it introduces some fun new characters as well as including his old friends. And it has a very happy ending 🙂

Algy does not yet know exactly which day he will receive printed copies of the book to sign, but he is hoping it will be the end of the week, Friday 16th, which is the official publication date.

Delivery to addresses in the UK: Algy is hoping to get SIGNED copies to you in time for Christmas 🙂 He will post further details about this very soon.

Delivery to western Europe: Algy should be able to send you UNSIGNED copies in time for Christmas. SIGNED copies will probably reach you between Christmas and the New Year but might possibly arrive in time for Christmas.

Delivery to addresses in the USA: Algy should be able to send you UNSIGNED copies in time for Christmas but this is not guaranteed. SIGNED copies cannot reach you in time for Christmas and are likely to arrive around the New Year.

Delivery to addresses outside the UK, western Europe and the USA: Algy will be happy to send you SIGNED copies, but sadly he cannot deliver them in time for Christmas. They are likely to reach you early in the New Year.
