As the weather forecast for the week ahead was grim, Algy decided to make the most of a brief spell of sunshine, and go for a wee ride in the birch tree while it was still relatively calm and comfortably dry. As he looked at the colours of the leaves around him, he felt that for once he had almost achieved a state of satisfactory camouflage, but unfortunately it could only last for as long as the leaves still clung to the tree, which would not be very long at all if the forecast was correct…

The summer was drawing to a close, and there was a different sort of feeling in the air. Algy had heard that many people visited fun fairs at this time of year, for a final fling before the holidays ended and they had to return to work or school. It was almost impossible to find a fun fair in the West Highlands, but fortunately Nature stepped in where humans had failed to provide. Have a fun weekend, everyone, and if your holidays are coming to an end, enjoy those last few days! xoxo

This time it was the beginning of summer, not the end – but the ride was the same! Algy’s birch tree could not keep still for a moment today…

Algy hopes that all his friends in the northern hemisphere will enjoy the summer ahead… if they can find it!

The first day of October was full of sunshine, but a wee bit breezy…

Some of Algy’s Tumblr friends in Germany had recently been posting photographs of the Oktoberfest there, and Algy wanted to join in the fun. There are no fun fairs in the West Highlands, of course, but Algy thought that a ride in a birch tree on a bright, windy day was probably just as good :-))
