Algy followed the lighthouse keepers’ path down to the barnacled rocks at the edge of the sea, and found himself a prickly perch among the rock pools. The tide was coming in, and the water surged all around his feet with much enthusiasm. It was great fun to watch, and he wondered how long it would be before he got splashed…

It was summer holiday time, and Algy could think of no better way to spend a summer holiday than by perching quietly on a warm rock by the edge of the sea. He felt completely happy and relaxed as he watched the water swirl gently around beneath his feet and the reflected light play lazily on the rocks. If only it could last forever! But in reality, of course, the tide would soon turn, and Algy would have to retreat… until the tide turned once more 🙂
Luckily, Algy was able to find a sheltered spot, so the temperature was quite comfortable, and the wind did no more than tickle his feathers very lightly from time to time. If you look closely you will see it 🙂
