Algy is excited because it is St. Valentine’s Day and he has some beautiful red roses to give all his amazing friends on Tumblr. The wonderful thing about the Tumblrverse is that he can give roses to all his friends at once 🙂

By the next morning, it was apparent that another autumn gale was on its way. The wind was already roaring through the trees, but Algy was determined to get some of those luscious red rowan berries before they were all blown away…

On St. George’s Day, Algy tries to take special care of dragons, to make sure that they come to no harm. As he flew over the great sea loch, he noticed that a spiny sea serpent was struggling to make its way back out to sea against the tide, so Algy watched from the stony beach to make sure that the dragon managed to return safely to the ocean 🙂

It is indeed All Hallows’ Eve, and also the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, marking the beginning of the very darkest part of the year here in the northern Celtic lands. The two festivals combined have created the Halloween we know today 🙂

Algy has had a wonderful couple of weeks, with his adventures trending on Tumblr, articles about him in the local press, his books selling locally to visitors to the area, and lots of interest in his adventures generally. So he is reposting this special GIF – one of his all-time favourites – to welcome all his new followers and thank all his loyal friends. Algy is also trying to work on the illustrations for his second book, which is due to be published at the end of November, but he thinks maybe he will have to ask his assistant for some help with that 🙂

The rain had stopped, for a wee while at least, so Algy lost no time in getting back to the piles of books that were waiting for his fluffy signature.
If you are a fluffy bird, signing your name is quite an elaborate process! It requires at least four different, special coloured pencils, and because it is not easy to control a pencil with fluffy wings, it’s necessary to go over the lines time and time again 🙂
Algy is doing his best to get all the signed copies of A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird sent out to the kind people who pre-ordered them as fast as he possibly can. Many have been posted already, and the remainder will be sent out in the next few days.
