Gray-Card gray-card very kindly suggested to Algy that he make a “top 5” set of images to help promote Algy’s crowdfunding campaign. The campaign certainly has been the highlight of Algy’s year, and the support and encouragement from all his friends has been absolutely fantastic. Algy sends his very fluffiest thanks to you all xoxoxo

Please help Algy reach his target – there are lots of lovely rewards available :-))) Every contribution really does help, no matter how small. On the date of this post, 27th December, Algy has raised 70% of his target…

If just 5% of Algy’s Tumblr followers who have not yet contributed could spare the price of a cup of coffee, Algy’s campaign would reach its target. Could you please spare a couple of pounds… or dollars… or euros… or anything… to help fund the production costs of Algy’s children’s book series Tales from The Adventures of Algy?

The campaign ends on 7th January 2015.

And please signal boost – on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, anywhere at all… to help spread the word to more people. Thank you, and lots of fluffy hugs to you all xoxoxo

ONLY ONE JIGSAW PUZZLE LEFT!

Some of Algy’s friends have mentioned to him that they are thinking of buying one of his special jigsaw puzzles, so he wants them to know that the jigsaw has proved very popular, and there is now (22nd December) only one left.

The complete jigsaw image is shown above: it has 60 pieces of a good size for small fingers, measures 30cm wide by 20 cm high, and comes with a large photo of the image for reference. Algy’s jigsaw puzzle for children is available to buy from Algy’s crowdfunding campaign page at Sponsume – scroll down the Sponsume page to the 4th item in the column on the right.

You can watch Algy trying to do his own jigsaw puzzle in this animation.

So if you are thinking of buying this jigsaw, please don’t delay or you may be disappointed… and if you do find you are too late, please let Algy know, and he will get in touch with you if he is able to obtain any more later on.

As it wasn’t really raining very much, Algy asked his assistant if he could please borrow her laptop for a moment, to check the progress of his Sponsume crowdfunding campaign.

When Algy opened the computer and looked at the screen, he could hardly believe his eyes. His campaign had passed the half-way mark and was now 57% funded. Algy was so excited he didn’t know what to do with himself!

Algy sends a huge thank you and a million fluffy hugs to all his friends who have already contributed and helped the campaign reach this exciting point xoxoxo

If just 10% of Algy’s Tumblr followers who have not yet contributed could spare the price of a cup of coffee, Algy’s campaign would reach its target. N.B. One of Algy’s friends asked what would happen if the target was not reached – would the books still be published, and would people who had contributed still get their rewards? Of course they will! A fluffy bird never goes back on his word. If the target isn’t reached, the first book will be published as planned, but Algy’s assistant will have to dig deep into whatever pockets she can find to make up the shortfall as best she can…

Algy’s Mid-Campaign Update

Algy’s crowdfunding campaign to fund the production and publication of his forthcoming children’s books series Tales from The Adventures of Algy has almost reached the half-way point, so he felt that it was time to provide all his kind friends and supporters with an update.

The campaign got off to a wonderful start in the first two weeks, with pre-orders of books, donations, and purchases of Algy’s Christmas gifts from many kind friends on and off Tumblr. But in the stormy third week the campaign hit the rocks, and temporarily ground to a halt, like so many other things have done here in the past week, when 5,000 lightning strikes were recorded in northern Scotland and the Western Isles in just two days…

On 13th December 2014 £943.64 (GBP) has been raised, out of a target total of £2500. It’s a fantastic start, but there’s still a way to go…

Algy is now hoping that his campaign will be able to refloat in due course, and maybe sail home triumphantly after Christmas. The campaign runs until 7th January 2015, and he is planning an exciting finale for the final weekend… providing, of course, that there is some electricity here to power it…

Check out Algy’s campaign page at Sponsume – there are lots of nice things there, some exclusive to this campaign.

Please signal boost – on Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, anywhere at all…

If you would like to track the progress of Algy’s campaign without visiting Sponsume, the Sponsume panel on Algy’s Fluffy Hugs page is updated in real time, and shows the campaign total and progress bar.

Fluffy hugs to you all xoxoxoxo

It had been an exceedingly stormy week, owing to a phenomenon which humans were calling a weather bomb, and Algy was feeling utterly fed up. He didn’t like bombs of any kind, and this one was no exception. As he watched the angry sea surging and crashing around him in one lightning flash after another, he thought of all the Tumblr friends whose company he was sadly missing :-{{

For many days now Algy’s assistant had had no internet or phone connection in her remote home, and much of the time no electricity either. A phenomenal number of lightning strikes had blasted the West Highlands and many other parts of Scotland, causing widespread network damage on top of the disruption resulting from storm force winds and wintry weather. From time to time she was able to make brief visits to a cold, empty house which for some mysterious reason still had a working broadband connection, but there was no way that Algy could manage to keep up with all his friends until conditions improved significantly. So he huddled down on the dismal, windswept rocks, waiting for the next battering shower of hail and sleet, and wished that it would all calm down and things would return to normal…

Algy is thinking of you all, and hopes very mch that you are enjoying better conditions than he is xoxo

p.s. Algy’s Christmas market is not affected by the storms as it is situated in the virtual world… so if you are looking for unique last-minute Christmas gifts, please be sure to visit Algy’s crowdfunding campaign page at Sponsume. Purchases made over the weekend will be despatched at the beginning of next week by 1st class post (UK) or airmail (overseas).

Algy’s Fluffy Hugs Page

As most of his friends will know by now, Algy is currently running a crowdfunding campaign at Sponsume to help fund the costs of producing his forthcoming series of children’s books, Tales from The Adventures of Algy.

And today Algy finally managed to create the promised Fluffy Hugs page to thank all those wonderfully kind friends who have contributed to his campaign. Thank you all very much indeed! Algy has been overwhelmed by your kindness, your support and your encouragement xoxoxoxo

If your name – or that of your Tumblr blog – appears on the Fluffy Hugs page, and you would like it changed in any way, or removed, please be sure to let Algy know.

And if you are thinking of buying calendars, mugs or jigsaw puzzles for Christmas gifts, please be sure to order soon – especially if you live overseas – as Algy is already beginning to see delays in the post. If you are looking for a large calendar, you might like to know that Algy hopes to have some new stock by the end of this week.
