In the best tradition of British garden parties, Algy arranged for
the erection of a marquee to accommodate the guests at his Surprisingly Fluffy Book Launch Party, not only for their
comfort while partaking of the refreshments, but also because – in the
great British tradition – it looked as though it was about to rain
again…

And Algy was right. What is true for Britain in general
is even more true for the West Highlands this summer, where scarcely a
day passes without rain. But when the rain did resume it went largely unnoticed, as Algy’s guests were happy inside their marquee, drinking ginger beer and tonic water while they eagerly turned the pages of their copies of Algy’s book 🙂

As soon as they had obtained their copies of Algy’s new book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird, the fluffy guests at his book launch party settled down to read!

While Algy’s Tumblr friends around the world were busy downloading their free copies of the Kindle version of his book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird, the fluffy guests at his party were queuing up to get their copies 🙂 The weather was a wee bit unstable again, and the ground was very wet, so Algy had to provide a warm, dry rug to keep his friends comfortable while they waited.

If

Before long, the tide had swept in over the sand where Algy had been standing, and the two copies of Algy’s book floated slowly out to sea on the bobbing raft, starting their long journey to the four corners of the world.

Algy perched on a rock, with the water and seaweed swirling around his toes, and sang his own composition, The Ballad of a Fluffy Bird Lost at Sea, while the raft gradually drifted out of sight. He hoped that the books would have a safe journey, and find a warm reception when they reached his friends overseas 🙂
