*** Free Kindle e-books this SUNDAY, 7th August ***

Algy’s assistant is doing a book signing event at a local lighthouse visitor centre on Sunday 7th August, and so – for the benefit of all his friends who live too far away to attend – Algy is offering both his books FREE in Kindle e-book format all day SUNDAY, until midnight American Pacific standard time.

This is likely to be the last time that Algy’s first two books are offered free, so don’t miss it!

This is also the best way to get a free print copy of Algy’s forthcoming third book, which is due to be published shortly before Christmas 2016. Just post an honest, personal review on Amazon – of either of Algy’s first two books – between now and November, and Algy will send you a free, signed, print copy of his new book when it’s published… providing you let him know about your review, of course, or he won’t know where to send your book! Just a few lines is all that’s needed 🙂

As well as helping other readers make informed decisions about which books to buy, reviews make a critical difference to the visibility of books on Amazon, so they are extremely important to Algy, because it’s not easy for stories about a wee fluffy bird on the wild west coast of Scotland to get noticed among the millions of books that are published all round the world…

These links should take you straight to Algy’s two books on your local Amazon site:

The free download offer starts just after midnight on SUNDAY morning, 7th August, and ends at midnight on Sunday evening – Pacific Standard Time.

p.s. You don’t need a Kindle device to read a Kindle book – Amazon provide free Kindle reading apps for most systems.

Please share and enjoy!

dedications in your own choice of words – from his very own online bookshop on his own
web site. Here’s the link:

A signed book with a personal dedication makes an ideal Christmas present for a child!

Algy’s first book “A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird” is ideal for children aged 7 to 10 to read for themselves, or as a bedtime story to be read to 5 and 6-year-olds.

Algy’s second book “The Tree with a Golden Heart” will be added to his shop when the paperback edition is published in December.

Books can be shipped to most countries of the world, but Algy has to charge for shipping costs as he can’t afford to pay them himself. So if you don’t want the book signed, it is likely to be cheaper to buy from Amazon or The Book Depository.

Algy’s books are in stock for immediate despatch 🙂

*** New edition of A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird for schools and libraries ***

************* Signed copies with dedications available to buy *************

Some of Algy’s friends wanted to donate copies of his book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird to their local primary schools, and Algy thought that was an excellent idea for the schools in his own area too 🙂 So his assistants produced a new hardback edition of the book, suitable for schools and libraries; with a glossy, casebound cover it is cheaper and more robust than the deluxe hardback edition. This means there are now three print editions to choose from!

Algy’s assistants are also working hard on creating a wee bookshop on Algy’s own web site, so that you can buy signed copies with special dedications direct from Algy or his assisant. Algy’s bookshop should be ready by late November, in time for Christmas shopping, but if you want to buy a signed copy before the end of November, just send Algy a Tumblr message or use the contact form on Algy’s own web site, and it can easily be arranged 🙂

If you don’t want the book signed, all editions of the book can be bought online from your local Amazon, Barnes and Noble (click on the Hardcover box to see both hardback editions), or The Book Depository – who offer FREE INTERNATIONAL SHIPPING. It can also be ordered (using the ISBN shown below) from any good bookseller, but that is likely to be slower.

Because there are now two different hardback editions, it can be tricky to find the right one at Amazon or Barnes & Noble, as they tend to hide one behind the other. But a search using the correct ISBN will always find the book 🙂

Here are the full details of the different editions:

Deluxe hardback edition, cloth bound with matte dust jacket, superior print quality for text and illustrations:  ISBN 978-1-910637-00-5

Hardback edition for schools and libraries, casebound, gloss laminate cover, standard print quality:  ISBN 978-1-910637-03-6

Paperback edition, standard print quality:  ISBN 978-1-910637-01-2

Kindle ebook ISBN 978-1-910637-02-9 Amazon ASIN B0112SRIVM

p.s. Algy is already working on his second book, and it should not be too long until that is ready too 🙂

ABSOLUTELY THE LAST CHANCE: FREE KINDLE BOOK TOMORROW ALL DAY SUNDAY 27TH SEPTEMBER 2015

This is the final Kindle promotion for this book. It will then be withdrawn from the Kindle program which enables free promotion and also from the Kindle lending programs Kindle Unlimited and Kindle Owners Lending Library. So get it for free while you can!

Algy wants you to read his first book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird 🙂 And he needs as many people as possible to review it on Amazon, because independently-published books need a LOT of help to reach their audience.

So Algy has a very special offer for you. Algy and his assistant are already working on the second book in the series “The Tree with a
Golden Heart”, which is due to be published shortly before Christmas:

Everyone who posts a review of A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird  on Amazon or on another bookseller’s site or a public review site (e.g. Goodreads) before the second book is published will be offered a free, signed, print copy of the second book when it is ready 🙂

N.B. If you publish a review under a name Algy may not recognise and want a free copy of the second book, be sure to let Algy know who you are!

If you have already reviewed A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird, thank you very much! Algy will be in touch with you when the second book is ready xo

THE KINDLE BOOK WILL BE FREE TO DOWNLOAD ALL ROUND THE WORLD, ALL DAY ON SUNDAY 27th SEPTEMBER 2015.

Forget the problems of everyday life
and escape into Algy’s unique and very special world on the wonderful, wild west
coast of the Scottish Highlands.

Children can
read alone from approx 7 years, and it’s an ideal bedtime story for the
wee ones.

Visit Algy’s own web site for many fluffy surprises 🙂

Algy flew on to his favourite lookout point. At this time of year the terraces of bare rock were provided with dense cushions of grasses and heather, and it looked much more welcoming than in the winter, although it was still the most exposed spot on the headland. He reclined on the grass in the early autumn sunshine, with his back against the warm rock and his hair feathers streaming out in the wind, and began to compose a new song…

It was a fine early autumn afternoon and the wind was blowing from the north, bringing cool, clean air which felt pleasantly fresh and new. Algy thought it was an excellent day to visit his friend Plog, so he flew over to the bog and perched on a grassy tussock beside the blue pool. The grasses had already taken on their autumn tints, in a subtle array of beige, reds, browns, greens and golds. Each single blade of grass now had a coat of many colours, changing from green at the base to gold or russet at the tip. Dragonflies darted here and there, and there were even a few late bees buzzing around happily in the warm sunshine, visiting the low-growing heather that flowered among the rocks and on the drier patches of ground. It was a lovely sight on a golden afternoon, and Algy hoped that the good weather would last a wee bit longer, as the landscape looked so much more beautiful in full colour…

If you don’t know who Plog is, Algy says please check out his book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird. Plog also plays an important role in Algy’s second book, which is already under way and should be available before Christmas 🙂

Algy was very excited! His assistant had told him that there was a story about him and his children’s book A Surprisingly Fluffy Bird in a local newspaper, and he couldn’t wait to see what it said. He spread the paper out carefully on the grass, and studied it with great interest. There was a big headline on page 4 which read “Adventurer Algy is full of surprises”… and when he saw it, no one was more suprised than Algy! There were two photos from his adventures, and a picture of him working with his assistant on the book. Algy had never seen anything like it before, and decided at once that he must acquire a scrapbook for his press cuttings 🙂

Have a lovely weekend, everyone – and if you should happen to find yourself suddenly famous, don’t let it go to your head. Just start a scrapbook 🙂  xoxo
